The Best Storage Boxes to Use

By Albany Office Supplies

Plastic and cardboard storage boxes are great for organising your belongings whether it's clothing, toys, important files, or just random items you have picked up over the years - storage boxes keep the items safe, away from dust and sunlight, making your work or home area more organised and clean. Storage boxes can be easily stacked-up for extra space and those that come with plastic shields and covers protect your items and documents from moisture and other damaging elements.

Clear plastic storage boxes make it easy to access documents and items that you need without the need to open the box, as they are see-through. Our cardboard heavy-duty storage boxes come with label areas for easy identification of the box contents. Our boxes are durable and include cut out handles for easy transportation. All of our boxes are available for sale individually or in multi-packs, such as in a pack of 10 or more. Most boxes are easily stackable and fit perfectly on top of one another, great for holding business files. For an open-faced storage unit and easy access, we have a variety of bookshelves and bookcases that come in different wooden finishes.

Our storage boxes come in various sizes, dimensions and capacity sizes. As well as original plastic or cardboard boxes, we also supply brighter coloured boxes too, great for identifying certain items if you’re using a colour sort system. Our box files are made for holding A4 and foolscap documents which come in laminated and high-gloss finishes, and also comes in a variety of different colours, great for colour coordinated filing.

When organising your documents and other items, start by identifying the items you are less likely to use anytime soon and put them all in one place then sub-categorise them. Make sure to use labels to identify items in each box, or even take photographs of the contents and print them out, stick them on the side of the box for more efficient recognition of items that are inside.

For paper files, sorting them in alphabetical order is usually the easiest option for sorting. It could take some time to arrange and sort at first so allocate a day where you can dedicate your time and effort into getting it done without any extra distractions. If more than one person has access to your files, remind others to keep the order and files neatly to avoid mix-ups. If stacking boxes, keep the less-used items below and the more frequently needed documents and items on top.
